Previous Project Experience

South Transit Center, Ft.Collins, CO

While employed with Aller-Lingle-Massey Architects, CRAFT principal Matt Newman served as the Project Architect for the $8M City of Fort Collins' South Transit Center.  This 4,300 s.f. multi-modal transit facility built on a center platform is a unique design that allows passengers to transfer from bus to bus under cover.  Unique features of this building include insulated concrete form walls and structurally insulated panels roofs dramatically reducing energy costs compared to baseline models.  A trombe wall was integrated into the the design and coordinated with roof overhangs and glazing locations to harvest energy and natural light.

Coyote Ridge Elementary,

Fort Collins, CO

While employed with the firm Bennett Wagner and Grody Architects, CRAFT principal Matt Newman served as the project manager for the $16M Coyote Ridge Elementary School for the Thompson School District.  The school district was very satisfied with the design and commissioned the firm to build the same design on another site.

Aspen Hall, Fort Collins, CO

While employed with the firm Aller-Lingle-Massey Architects, CRAFT Principal Matt Newman served as the Project Manager for Aspen Hall, a $16M residence hall for Colorado State University.  This 60,000 square foot building houses 220 students and integrates many sustainable features including a gray water collection system, xeriscaping and a permeable pavement system.

Williams Village North, Boulder, CO

While employed with the firm Aller-Lingle-Massey Architects, CRAFT principal Matt Newman served as the Project Architect for the $45M Williams Village North Residence Hall for the University of Colorado.  This 500 bed residence hall was the first high-occupancy residence hall to achieve a LEED Platinum certification from the United States Green Building Council.

Baker Hall, Boulder, CO

While employed with the firm Aller-Lingle-Massey Architects, CRAFT principal Matt Newman served as the Project Architect for the $44M renovation of Baker Hall at the University of Colorado.  9 foot floor-to-floor heights presented challenges in modernization of the building's mechanical systems and addition of an elevator.  Building information modeling was used to closely coordinate the building's systems prior to construction.

 

 

 

Windsor Meadows, Windsor, CO

While employed with Aller-Lingle-Massey Architects, CRAFT principal Matt Newman served as the Project Architect for the $6M Windsor Housing Authority Workforce Housing project.  This 44-unit affordable housing project was built to meet Green Globes standards and includes a 50kW photovoltaic solar panel system.  The project also included a 2,500 s.f. community center housing offices, community kitchen, game room, mail facility and maintenance shop.

Jessup Farm, Fort Collins, CO

While employed with the firm Aller=Lingle-Massey Architects, CRAFT principal Matt Newman served as the Project Architect for the revitalization of a turn of the century farm.  The farm has been transformed into a pedestrian mall with a restaurant, retail spaces and artisan workshops.
