Summit View
Summit View is a 7,000 s.f. mountain-modern vacation home in Summit County, Colorado. While computer modeling software was used throughout this project, rough but tangible balsa wood models helped the client understand spatial relationships and how the building would relate to the significant slope of the building site.
Modern Craft
While there is no shortage of grand spaces in this project, many small and intimate spaces make this a very comfortable home. The client felt very strongly that there be a distinct separation of public and private space. The response was a translucent corridor exposed to two impressive courtyards that completely separate the two uses. Guests to this home are offered their own garage with access directly into the public area of the home. An entry courtyard provides access to the main entry from both sides of the home. The tower structure in the courtyard contains a covered exterior stair that leads to second floor breezeway connecting two covered patios.
Anderson Residence
The Anderson Residence is located on a remote and heavily-forested site and will include fire-resistant materials, active and passive solar and a rain water collection system to support the fire department cistern and irrigation systems. An open-concept vaulted common space promotes natural ventilation through the lower level to clerestory windows on the second level.
